I Love Science Festival 2024
From October 11 to 13, 2024, Tic Tac Lab took part in the I Love Festival Science
The I Love Science Festival is a major science festival organized by the Brussels Region. It attracts over 15,000 visitors to a 5,000 m² site at Tour & Taxis. There are stimulating conferences for adults, fun activities for children, and educational workshops for classes.
It’s completely free and open to all. You don’t even need a ticket. Needless to say, we strongly advise you to go!
An Electrical Stand
Our stand consisted of 3 interconnected sections:
- Workshop section where visitors made an “Illuminated Greeting Card”. The lightning bolt on their card lit up when its mini electric circuit was closed. To achieve this, visitors used conductive sticky paper, mini LEDs, button cells and the laser cutter.
- Knowledge section where visitors could learn more about electricity: static electricity, lightning, Benjamin Franklin’s kite experiment, the history of electricity-related innovations, etc.
- Digital Art section where a large cloud and several smaller clouds were suspended above the stand, creating a striking and poetic visual effect. By passing under the large cloud, visitors could trigger a thunderstorm: the large cloud would light up, as if lightning had flashed through it.
