Drawing, engraving, and printing using technology
In this creative module for young people aged 14 and over, you will explore all aspects of printing and engraving using the FabLab’s digital tools. Over the course of three sessions, you will learn how to draw, engrave, print, and experiment with a variety of techniques to create your own original designs.
You will be introduced to Inkscape, a free and open-source vector design software, to design precise patterns suitable for different media. You will then discover how to bring your designs to life using several machines: engraving rubber to make a stamp, creating pixel art from Lego bricks, engraving Tetra Pak with a vinyl cutter, or even creating patterns on wood. You will also be able to experiment with 3D printing to complete your creations.
At the end of this module, you will leave with several unique objects and a solid first experience of digital manufacturing applied to drawing, engraving, and printing.
